Lowerfield Client Testimonial

Client Testimonial

When we purchased the old house in 2004, we had a dream of creating a new Lowerfield that would enhance its Georgian conservation area setting, as if an 18th century Master Builder had been given the knowledge, tools and budget to deliver his creation again in style and delightful detail but using modern methods of design and construction.
For years we struggled to find the right solution, matching ideas to high quality but cost effective reality, until we saw another house built by Guilfoyle Construction. The owners there had been given not just what they thought they wanted but, with Guilfoyle Construction’s vision and advice, something much better.
So that was our challenge, which John and his team of local craftsmen accepted and delivered in the most collaborative and enjoyable way possible. We knew only that we wanted a perfectly proportioned Georgian house, substantial and pleasing to the eye outside, full of light and space inside, respecting and enjoying its special relationship with the garden and surrounding views.
We got all of that and much more. A beautifully finished, warm, healthily ventilated, easily controllable house which, for all its imposing appearance outside, appears to grow again when you step inside. The atrium, staircase and landings flow easily together, every room leads your eye back outside. This is a house confidently at one with its garden setting, where residents and visitors enjoy the best of both simultaneously. It is genuinely a legacy to the next 200 years in Easebourne.
